One way to insure that AquaBella is performing at it’s optimum level is to make sure that your aquarium is maintained at a high level. By keeping the substrate clean, filter media changed on a regular basis and cleaning glass where large accumulations of algae may have built-up can go a long way in having a beautiful aquarium. AquaBella is our secret in maintaining the aquariums we service. Although not really a secret, we tell everyone we know about it, it is a great tool to reduce the workload and help keep the aquarium looking great. I have often said “if they only knew how effective it really is, they’d all be using it” and we stand by those words. It has been the single greatest factor in our ability to keep the aquariums we service well maintained. It has reduced the amount of work we have to do (including water changes) and is a major improvement where filter systems and media such as carbon are used to achieve water clarity. With AquaBella, the aquariums take on a clarity that we could not have achieve before using normal maintenance procedures. Now having talked about what a great product AquaBella is, the trick is to help it help you. We do that by doing routine maintenance and where needed, using other products in conjunction with AquaBella.
First, it is important in a (swim) fish only aquarium to insure that the gravel is cleaned regularly. Since much of the bacteria lives on the surface of the gravel, keeping it clean helps the bacteria function better. Also, making sure that Cyanobacteria (red slime) is not building up in low flow areas of the aquarium is important. We have seen AquaBella actually help to reduce Cyanobacteria, but by vacuuming the substrate and where large accumulations are present, using products in conjunction with AquaBella such as Red Slime Remover, or Chemiclean, we can keep the aquarium in the kind of condition that is optimal for AquaBella to perform. In some cases, nitrate levels can become very high needing additional water changes, or using products like AZN03 to get levels down to a reasonable level, help speed up the results that can been seen using AquaBella.
Although AquaBella over time is always going to improve the aquarium, we feel it is important to keep the aquarium well maintained. When using sound maintenance practices and using AquaBella, you will have a great looking aquarium with larger numbers of fish in a thriving environment.
